In a meeting with the press today Dave Dombrowski dropped in a couple of tidbits germane to Jair Jurrjens.
- The Tigers have 3 rotation spots solidified in Verlander, Bonderman, and Robertson. One spot will go to a veteran - either Kenny Rogers or someone acquired via trade or free agency, and one spot will go to a young pitcher. There will be a spring training competition between a group of young pitchers that would presumably include Jurrjens and Andrew Miller.
- Jurrjens will spend the offseason with Gary Sheffield in Tampa. Jair will work with Sheffield and Sheffield’s personal trainer with the intent of getting Jurrjens stronger.
