Jair Jurrjens was knocked out in the 3rd inning of tonight’s game against the Kansas City Royals. He was tagged for one run in the first when he allowed a double and a single with 2 outs.
Things didn’t get better in the 2nd inning when he allowed a single followed by a home run. The deciding blow came in third when he allowed a triple and a single while recording only one out.
He walked none and had a decent strike to ball ratio (28:15), but he also didn’t strike anyone out and allowed quite a bit of solid contact - as evidenced by the extra base hits.
A pitch f/x analysis will be forthcoming. Jurrjens final line tonight is:
IP: 2.1, H: 6, ER: 4, BB: 0, K: 0
He won’t receive a decision because the Tigers took the lead in the 6th inning.
