With all the major projecting systems reporting, we can now get a feel for what we might expect from Jair Jurrjens in the 2008 season.
| IP | ERA | K/9 | BB/9 | HR/9 | |
| CHONE | 130 | 4.85 | 6.58 | 3.67 | 1.18 |
| Marcel | 75 | 4.20 | 6.24 | 3.12 | 0.96 |
| ZiPS | 158 | 4.27 | 5.47 | 1.94 | 1.08 |
| PECOTA | 149 | 5.04 | 5.85 | 3.38 | 1.39 |
ZiPS likes Jurrjens to play a substantial role, but with a depressed strikeout rate. Still, ZiPS expects a decent ERA despite middling peripheral stats. The ZiPS walk rate is a full run below the other projection systems and I’m not sure where that came from.
PECOTA’s weighted mean projections aren’t too flattering with a home run rate. Still, for a 5th starter that production wouldn’t be too bad.
